Goddess Shailaputri is the spouse of Lord Shiva and has two children, Ganesha and Kartikeya.

The goddess has a bow moon on her brow, two hands, conveying a Trishul (spear) in the right hand and a lotus bloom in the left hand. She is the goddess of the Muladhara Chakra or the Root Chakra, who after arousing starts her excursion upwards. Shailputri is related with dark red tone.
