The eighth of April has been designated as National Dog Fighting Awareness Day since 2014. It makes sense that dogfighting be prohibited nationwide. As a result, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals established this day as part of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month in April to raise awareness of dog fighting and to inspire people to take action against it. Dogs are trained to kill or seriously injure their opponents during these games, and it is all too usual for losers to be left behind without obtaining medical care.
