The annual World Day of the Engineer is held on March 4. The celebrations are sponsored jointly by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (W.F.E.O.) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to honour the accomplishments of engineers and their contributions to infrastructure development and building construction. Also, there is a focus on engineering and how to interest future generations in it. Sustainable development is now one of the objectives of Global Day of the Engineer, which has inspired many ambitious engineers.
