Engineer s day is celebrated on different dates in different countries. In India, Engineer s day is celebrated on 15th September every year. The day is celebrated as a tribute to the greatest Indian Engineer Bharat Ratna Visvesvaraya.
He was born on September 15, 1860. Visvesvaraya served as the chief engineer responsible for the construction of the Krishna Raja Sagara dam in Mysore and chief designer of the flood protection system for the city of Hyderabad.
